This is a good place to be if you are numerous and want to have a nice nest during your stay in Rome!
Together with the Prati District, this area is called the Esquilino and it has one of the most regular urban plans in the city. It is a district that has been completely re-urbanized during the 19th century in order to house the new bourgeoisie. Today it is quite outside the tourist attraction range, that is as outside as a roman neighborhood can be, because there will always be visitors!
The train station is right nearby along with several places that must be visited whether you are a travelling enthusiast, art lover, passionate of history or a curious tourist.
One of the most important attractions is the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, The Porta Maggiore which is one of the city gates and the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II where you can enjoy one of the best espressos in the world.
We are here in one of the outer districts of the historical center, which is served by the Vittorio Emanuele metro station.
There are several good restaurants you might want to visit. One worth mentioning is the ‚’Vecchia Roma’. Known for its best pasta and pizza, this place is usually full of locals and very dynamic in the evenings. Do not forget to book and enjoy la dolce vita! http://www.ristorantevecchiaroma.com/
